Eucharist
Sacrament of the Eucharist
The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life. By this we mean that everything we do as Christians flows from our reception of the Eucharist, and leads back to the celebration of the Eucharist at Mass as the highest expression of the Christian Faith on earth. In the sacrament, Christ truly gives to us Himself—body, blood, soul, and divinity—under the appearance of bread and wine. It’s a mystery that we accept on faith, trusting in the guarantee that Jesus Himself made at the Last Supper. In a special way, when we receive Communion, we renew and deepen an intimate relationship with the Lord.

At Our Parish
First Holy Communion is typically celebrated once one has reached the age of reason, eight years old, and after having confessed one’s sins in the sacrament of Reconciliation. This is preceded by instruction in the Faith. First Communions take place during the ordinary Sunday Masses throughout May. For more information, contact Debora Robertson at faithformation@goodshepherdwayland.org.
Communion for the Homebound
Holy Communion is regularly brought to the homebound and to those in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities in our parish. If you know of someone who needs this service and is not receiving it please contact the Parish Office at 508-650-3545.
