Reconciliation

Sacrament of the Reconciliation

Reconciliation, or Confession, is the way in which we receive forgiveness for serious sins committed after Baptism. Serious sins are those which violate the Ten Commandments and the Law of God, when deliberately committed with full knowledge. They fracture our relationship with God and with the Church. The sacrament of Reconciliation repairs both of those relationships.

For a sample list of serious sins and an aid to Confession, feel free to consult this website: https://evangelizationstation.com/a-structured-list-of-mortal-sins-in-catholic-moral-theology/

The Church firmly holds that all Catholics are to participate in this sacrament at least once a year, normally during Lent. But the sacrament can be requested at any time, as frequently as may be needed for forgiveness and strength.

At Good Shepherd, Confessions are held every Saturday afternoon from 3:00-3:45 (excepting Holy Saturday). However, Confessions may be scheduled with Father Ren at any time. Please contact him at 508.650.3545, ext. 14; or via email at frren@goodshepherdwayland.org
